A one-year-old boy also drowned after he fell into a pool at Mulgoa in Sydney's west. At Warriewood on the northern beaches, a 23-year-old man died after he was washed out to sea; police said he jumped into the water from rocks. Emergency workers were also searching for a 23-year-old fisherman washed from a rockpool at North Curl Curl. All beaches in Sydney were closed except Manly, Bondi and Coogee. At least three beachgoers were taken to hospital. The waves were caused by tropical cyclone Sandra and are expected to continue into next week. Sydney reached 32 degrees on Saturday but a southerly change is due on Sunday morning.
